How to Freeze & Store Meat

  • This lil guide is helpful for freezing & storing meat, especially if you buy it in bulk.

You will need the following items:
  • Freezer bags (Ziploc, store brand, whatever)
    Plastic wrap
  • Permanent marker
  • Follow these steps:

    1) Take out the meat from the original packaging and separate into dinner-size amounts. Think about how much you actually need for dinner or lunch. This portioning ahead of time helps you eat healthy, also.
You'll be surprised that it may actually be less than what you think you need. I used to cook everything and end up either eating it all or throwing a lot of food away, which is unhealthy and wasteful.

    2) Wrap each portion in plastic wrap very tightly. Try to keep any air or water from getting in or out. This will keep your meat from getting freezer burn.

    3) Place in a freezer bag. Make sure you get out as much of the air out of the freezer bag you can take out.

    4) Label the bag with WHAT is inside the bag AND the date.
